This building has been a hotel for over a hundred years and has undergone many changes over the years. Before the railway was built in the early last century, there was a bay that stretched almost all the way to the corner of our hotel – Solviken.

To make way for the railway, work began to fill in the quay where it stands today, and Solviken gradually disappeared to allow for the new infrastructure. At the same time, the building began its new role as a hotel, becoming part of the growing tourism in Lysekil.

Today, our hotel carries both a long and fascinating history, where the traces of the old bay's vibrant presence, the arrival of the railway, and the city's development remain in every wall and room. And we are proud to be a part of this story that continues to grow and evolve.
